Trollhaugen Dualsport
June
21st & 22nd 2008
Take a magical two day tour through the North Cascades along a
scenic dualsport route you’ll never forget through the land of
the frost giants and trolls.
The Cadillac of dualsport events in the Northwest,
the third annual Trollhaugen Dualsport will wind you through the
North Cascades on Saturday with an overnight stop at a secret
hideout only the trolls know. Trollhaugen of course.
With 50% more snow than last year, the past winter has lured us
into using a few new roads we hadn't thought about before.
Sounds good to us.
For 2008 the route start is at 9 a.m. in Index Washington at the
Index Cafe. Day one begins with a journey over the Cascades into the
Bavarian reaches of Leavenworth, which happens to be the lunch stop.
The afternoon will include a trip southward over the Camas Land and
Tronsen Ridge areas into a historic mining town. Ready for a soak in the hot tub?
Arrive at Trollhaugen and do just that.
The lodge features a
Norse style décor, two giant stone
fireplaces, more unique artistry than you can shake a dried cod fish
at and a number of short trails to scenic vistas nearby. Other
activities include ping pong, horse shoes and more.
Evening activities will include a spaghetti dinner, an awards
presentation, a trip to one of two saunas and a soak in the
luxurious outdoor hot tub under the stars. Trollhaugen sleeps up to
50 indoors in twin size beds – 4 to 6 to a room, or you can tent
camp outside under the stars.

your commemorative group photograph.
On Sunday morning riders will leave camp and be provided a scenic
route around the Lt. Murray Wildlife Area, up a cow infested canyon
and to the lunch destination in Cliffdell. Watch for stunning views of Mt. Rainier and other peaks
as you travel along these roads.
The final part of the ride takes riders over a high alpine
prairie and through one of Washington's 3 National Parks.
The entire route is along gravel roads and pavement. Once you
receive your map, you may know a few single track alternatives along
the route which you may put to use if you’re so inclined. All riders
are encouraged to travel at their own pace. There is no
leader, you simply use the maps provided.
The Trollhaugen Dualsport – a two day adventure ride you won’t
soon forget. Don’t miss out on a grand ride and a lot of fun.
