2021 Rally in the Gorge Highlights

We are looking forward to getting back to the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area for our 2021 rally. The awesome roads - both paved and unpaved - the stunning views, the camaraderie, and the glorious food. We hope you'll join us for 5 days, 4 nights, and too much fun.

Informative Presentations - UPDATE

If you've never been to the Rally in the Gorge, or want to learn more about the area, plan to drop in Wednesday afternoon for our Introduction to the Rally in the Gorge primer. This presentation provides history about the geology of the area, background about the excellent roads the area provides today, and tips on how to get the most out of your rally experience.

The team from Idaho Star will be providing a number of useful clinics this year. A Two-up clinic will provide useful knowledge couples can use to improve their time together of two wheels. A trio of seminars will be provided for those who want to master creating and executing a group ride. And, a Ladies only seminar will share tips, safety information, relatable personal experiences, and facilitate an open Q&A forum where women can feel comfortable asking questions and sharing advice.

If you'd like to be a presenter at this year's rally, send a note to rally@soundrider.com with details about your background and what you'd like to present. We're open to presentations about motorcycle-focused products, riding skills, health and safety, history, and motorcycling tips in general.

Tasty Routes and Roads

With over 1,300 miles of recommended paved routes and 700 miles of dual sport routes, there's no shortage of riding options. When you arrive, you'll be provided suggested route maps and GPS downloads of this year's selections. If you need more, we offer two books that cover the entire region, both on and off pavement.

And it's not just pavement and the gravel that are tasty. During the pandemic a number of new eateries have opened for riders to enjoy while out and about. Or maybe you want to hit an old favorite?

Maryhill Loops Saturday Morning Clinic: "Cornering Precision" - UPDATE!

This year the Maryhill Loops Clinic will help you take your cornering up a level by focusing on control precision. We are going to take a deep dive into the nuances of how we can unlock more FUN and confidence in cornering by increasing our understanding of how control inputs affect traction, turn shape, and lean angle. At the end of the day, we'll have more composure and feel more relaxed in corners. We look forward to riding with you on the Historic Maryhill Loops Road.

This year's Maryhill clinic is once again led by Jesse Murphy and his team from Cascade Motorcycle Safety. The cost is $109 for this four-hour class. Space is limited to the first 20 riders to sign up. Riders must be registered for the Rally in the Gorge to register for this additional clinic.

Rally Kitchen and Café

Our on-site rally kitchen will be providing a tasty selection of quality food throughout the rally. Combined with the hosted burger feed Thursday night and a pancake feed Sunday morning, there's always breakfast and dinner available every day. We also offer lunch when you arrive on Wednesday. Our motto: Good food that's good for ya!

During the pandemic we've been busy in the kitchen. As a result, we'll have some new menu items available this year including a few GF, paleo, keto, and vegetarian options. We'll release the menu later this summer, but if you have any special requests, feel free to send them to us at rally@soundrider.com.

Accommodations

You've got plenty of options. The rally site at the Hood River County Fairground features plenty of well-powered, reliable RV hookups. Camping is available throughout the fairgrounds with power available in multiple areas. Need to park a trailer? Not a problem, there's plenty of space onsite to drop a trailer, or just park it with you at your campsite.

B&B options are available nearby and hotel accommodations are available just 7 miles north in downtown Hood River.

Vendors

All Moto Tire, ROK Straps, Cascade Motorcycle Safety and Idaho Star lead a list of vendors that will grow as we get closer to the rally date.

If you'd like to be a vendor at this year's rally, send a request to rally@soundrider.com telling us about the products or services you represent. Vendor spaces are located both outside and indoors (air conditioned). You simply pay one registration per person manning your space. There are no additional fees to be a vendor and you are entitled to all the value registered riders enjoy during the event. Many vendors come and sell during the morning and late afternoon hours, then take off and enjoy the great roads in the area during the day just like everyone else.

Evening Entertainment

Slow speed competitions, a bike show, and plenty of moto highlights from the last two years will be rolling each evening.

Questions about the event, sponsorships, and otherwise can be directed to rally@soundrider.com, or call the hotline at 206-650-9102.
